Congratulations, you're pregnant!
There's a laundry list of things to do. Set up doctor appointments, buy maternity clothes, plan baby showers, purchase all the baby gear, and most importantly search for a photographer to capture it all!
It’s a lot. I know, I’ve been there too! Nine months seems like a long time to wait to meet your baby, but at the same time, it goes by in a flash (hello laundry list!) which is reason #1 to hire a birth photographer! But I get it…you’re still skeptical. Skeptical, but intrigued!
Now what?
here are a few reasons to consider a birth photographer
- Memories. You are going to forget. Let me say it again, YOU ARE GOING TO FORGET. The first time you see and hold your baby will quickly be replaced by their first smile, first words and first steps. Don’t forget. Hire a photographer to capture these moments!
- The details. To piggyback on #1, if you are going to forget the big moments, you will FOR SURE forget the small details. Room details, family reactions, tender moments with your partner, etc.
- So you can be present. Don’t worry about pictures. Just focus on birthing your baby!
- So your spouse can be present. Let him hold you and not a camera!
- Quality. I know smart phones are AMAZING these days. But they still aren’t cameras…especially in the low light situations that most births are. I push my camera to its limits to get the perfect shots of your birth. Your smart phone can compete.
- Professional. I’ve been present at a lot of births. So I know the pace and flow of labor and delivery. I know to expect the unexpected. I know where to stand to get the best shot while also being out of the way. I know when to get zoomed out and zoomed in shots. I know when to shoot overhead. I know how to edit images in post-processing to make them the absolute best they can look. I know the best printing labs to work with so you can get the album of your dreams. I know all these things so you can focus on you and your baby and be in the moment!
- Best push present. Forget jewelry, this is the gift that keeps giving! You will have these images FOREVER. You’ll be able to look at them and reminisce on birthdays. Show your kids actual pictures when they ask you to tell them about the day they were born.
- Babies are only born once. You only get ONE chance to capture the moment you meet your baby.
